RDHS competed in the Interschool Swimming competition held at Clare in Term 1, after our own swimming carnival. With a team of just 30 compared to other schools, Burra, Eudunda, Clare, Balaklava and Horizon, (some had nearly 50 students participating) we did an excellent job and filled almost every event. It was great to watch the RDHS team spirit, listening to all the students cheering and congratulating one another. At the end of the day we were awarded the Handicap Shield which we had won the previous year. Well done to all the students who participated and the ones who have been selected to represent the Lower North Team in Marion. Also huge congratulations to Casey O’Toole on being awarded Runner Up in U15 and Jesse Allan awarded Overall Champion for U14, an exceptional effort.

A very successful interschool Athletics Carnival was held, following our own school sports day. RDHS hosted the event for secondary schools in the region – Clare, Balaklava, Burra, Kapunda and Riverton competed against each other in field and track events. It was an excellent day and Riverton was successful in winning the ‘Handicap Shield’.
