Pupil free day report

Visible Learning Focus at Port Wakefield Kindergarten
This year has seen Visible Learning become a focus for all Staff and Children. Staff have undertaken professional learning in Foundation Day and Feedback Focus. Nature Play at Balaklava CCC
It was their squeals of laughter and animated conversation that drew me near. The children were mixing the soil and water, carting it from one side of the path to the other using the wheel barrows. On the surface it was just a group of children having fun. But their learning was much deeper and richer today because of the Nature Play offered at Balaklava Community Children’s Centre.
Certificate II Automotive Program
In 2017, we have sixteen students from Riverton, Burra, Eudunda and Balaklava participating in a Certificate II program, run through the Elizabeth TAFE. The lecturer travels to the high school each Monday to deliver the program, using the facilities of the RDHS Trade Training Centre.
Presentation Ball
On Friday March 17th, Riverton & District High School held their annual Presentation Ball. The Ball is for year 12 students to dress up in formal attire and be presented to fellow students, family and the community. The theme for this year’s presentation ball was Red & White.
2017 Sporting achievements
RDHS competed in the Interschool Swimming competition held at Clare in Term 1, after our own swimming carnival. With a team of just 30 compared to other schools, Burra, Eudunda, Clare, Balaklava and Horizon, (some had nearly 50 students participating) we did an excellent job and filled almost every event.
